On March 13, 2026, a technical seminar focusing on the core challenge of substation DC power systems—battery verification charging and discharging tests (referred to as “verification testing")—was successfully held at Shijiazhuang Tonghe Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. The seminar was organized by the AC/DC Power Supply Systems Professional Committee of the Zhongguancun Smart Power Industry Technology Alliance. As a leading enterprise with over two decades of deep expertise in the DC power supply industry, Tonghe Technology not only hosted the event but also provided robust theoretical and practical support for the industry’s intelligent transformation through its extensive technical expertise and forward-looking industry perspective.
The conference brought together more than 50 experts from State Grid, research institutes, and leading equipment manufacturers to discuss the current state, challenges, and future directions of remote battery capacity verification technology. Zhao Jin, Chairman of Tonghe Technology’s Smart Grid Business Group, attended the conference and delivered an opening address, fully demonstrating the company’s commitment to advancing technological progress in the industry.
As the organizer and host of this conference, Tonghe Technology showcased its technical expertise in the field of DC power supplies. At the start of the conference, Zhao Jin delivered an opening address on behalf of the company, welcoming experts from across the country and emphasizing that Tonghe Technology will continue to deepen its expertise in DC power supply technology to provide the industry with safer and more efficient solutions.
During the conference, Liu Qiguang of Tonghe Technology shared the company’s latest achievements in remote capacitance verification technology solutions and practical applications. As one of the first companies in China to develop inverter-based capacitance verification technology, Tonghe Technology addressed the pain points of traditional series-connected DC power supplies by introducing an inverter-based capacitance verification device featuring islanding protection, high-precision discharge control, and multi-dimensional data collection. This device has already achieved significant results in pilot applications at multiple provincial power grid companies, providing a vivid practical example for the conference discussions.
During the closed-door workshop, which lasted several hours, participating experts engaged in vigorous discussions on core issues such as technical approaches to remote nuclear capacity assessment, safety risks, data ownership, and operating procedures. Addressing key technical challenges of widespread concern among experts—including harmonic effects, load cooling, AC protection performance gaps, and anti-islanding protection—Tonghe Technology’s technical solution demonstrated robust engineering adaptability.
The isolated inverter module combined with a multi-layered protection strategy proposed by Tonghe Technology effectively addresses the issue of harmonic interference in AC systems caused by traditional nuclear-capacity devices. At the same time, through refined protection margin design and anti-islanding protection functions, it ensures the safety and reliability of the nuclear-capacity process.
The meeting ultimately established a core technical framework based on a “two-pronged approach": first, retrofitting traditional substations at 220 kV and above with additional active inverter-based capacitance devices; and second, promoting the adoption of new parallel DC power supplies in substations at 220 kV and below. Leveraging its technical expertise in active inverter-based capacitance devices, parallel DC power supplies, and combined mutual backup DC power supply systems, Tonghe Technology has been deeply involved in the design of implementation plans for multiple pilot provinces.
The successful convening of this seminar has not only laid a solid foundation for the large-scale adoption of remote battery capacity verification technology, but also fully demonstrated Tonghe Technology’s technical capabilities and sense of responsibility as a dedicated industry leader. Based in Shijiazhuang and with a national perspective, Tonghe Technology will continue to be driven by innovation and work alongside industry peers to advance the transformation of DC power supply operation and maintenance models toward intelligent and digital solutions, thereby contributing “Tonghe’s strength" to the development of a modern intelligent equipment operation and maintenance system under the new power system.
